Things I learned on the Week of May 20th
Articles I read
I found the best free time blocking app out there, KosmoTime. It doesn't have a mobile app nor can it integrate with other apps apart from Asana and Slack, but it offers timeblocking features that I've only seen as paid features elsewhere. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the disposable income to pay for yet another subscription. Wait, did you just say “what is time blocking”? It’s a technique I’ve talked about before, a technique I’ve been using myself, and KosmoTime has just made it easier for me to do.
Discovered an amazing app that combines note taking, task management and time-blocking in a way I haven't seen done before. It’s called Amplenote and unlike KosmoTime, it has mobile apps for Android and iOS! Having tested it, the free version doesn’t provide all the features I personally want for time blocking, and it doesn’t have a whiteboard feature which is a deal-breaker for me personally for a note-taking app, but I would still recommend you try it and see if it meets all your own needs, because the workflow or funnel in this app is a brilliant idea.

Media I consumed
A video from Ali Abdal on how he manages his time. I immediately started putting some of the techniques in this video to use. Ali is a productivity Youtuber whose videos have helped me a lot over the years.
Spiritual Lessons
“7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord, neither was the word of the Lord yet revealed unto him.
21 And the Lord appeared again in Shiloh: for the Lord revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord.”
It is through the revealed Word of God that we know God. Samuel grew up in the tabernacle (tent of worship in the pre-temple days), was serving the high priest, and spent all his life around the things of God, but he did not yet know God, as the word of the God was not yet revealed to him. As Samuel grew, he grew in his knowledge of God because the Lord revealed himself by the word of the Lord.
The action point for this bit of information is that you should ask God to reveal Himself to you. You don’t want to just read about Him. Ephesians 1:17-20 is a great guide for this prayer.
